IN VINO VERITAS (In wine there is truth)

Tips to Taste Like a Connoisseur:

  1. Look at the color and clarity of the wine in the glass
  2. Tilt the glass and look at the "edge" of the wine (where it meets the glass)
  3. Swirl the wine to see how much "body" it has
  4. Take a small sip
  5. After the first sip, swirl the wine in your mouth and notice how it feels and tastes
  6. Swallow the wine, noticing any after-tastes
  7. Think about the wine's impression on your senses

Western culture owes a lot to the ancient Romans--classical architecture, rhetoric, and not least among the list is their appreciation for wine, a sentiment echoed by one of America's founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson: "Good wine is a necessity of life for me."

We all have an appreciation for the finer things, but to help make them just a little more affordable visit the wine specials page for information on what's new, what's on sale, anPortd what's coming in.

If you're looking for something specific, the (nearly) complete product list will give you an idea of pricing, in-store availability, and special-order options.

We also offer several sections of background information: the wine-making process; how the varietals vary; and how the regions vary.

Though out of commission for some time, the Chicone's Liquor Mart Wine Club is back and running. The online aspect details membership benefits and the newsletter.
